The Worley Outdoor Education Center
Through a generous gift from Col. and Mrs. Oliver Worley, we also have an outdoor education facility in Putnam County, the Oliver N. Worley Outdoor Education Center. Nestled on a beautiful 200-acre tract of land, intersected by Rooty Creek, the Worley Center features woods, ponds, and steams, with locations to study water ecology, life sciences, ecology, and forestry. The Worley Center also has indoor classroom and lab space. All of our field studies are customized to meet the needs of teachers and students. The Center is home to Lockerly’s summer outdoor day camp, and is also used by Boy Scouts for activities.
If you are interested in using the Worley Center for an outdoor group activity, please call Greg Eilers at 478-452-2112. Demand for the Center is high during temperate weather. Call as far in advance as possible so you can reserve your preferred dates.
All groups must read, sign, and return the Worley Property Policy and Usage Guidelines prior to using the facility. For more information, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
