GCSU Student Volunteers

We are fortunate to have a great working relationship with Dr. Harriett Whipple at GCSU. Her students provided Lockerly with over 200 hours of volunteer time last semester, and we are looking forward to having them again this semester. If you are a student in Dr. Whipple’s class, or a student at any of our local high schools or colleges, and want to spend some time outside working in the gardens this semester, please use the link below to schedule your time.

Every Wednesday morning, with the exception of July and August, our Dirt Digger volunteers meet in the mornings to work on various projects around the arboretum. Many of the volunteers are Master Gardeners, but no gardening experience is required. Dirt Diggers contribute countless hours of volunteer service and contribute in a variety of ways. They are a vitally important part of Lockerly, especially during our spring plant sale in April. If you have a love of plants and want to get involved please contact Debbie Foster at debbiefoster@lockerly.org.
